Months after the ferry service between India (Nagapattinam) and Sri Lanka (Kankesanthurai) was temporarily suspended, a new daily service to the island nation resumed on Friday ( 16 August 2024)
Passenger ferry Sivagangai, operated by IndSri Ferry Services Private Limited in Chennai, embarked on its voyage from the Nagapattinam port to Kankesanthurai port in Jaffna, with 50 passengers onboard, comprising tourists and traders.
- Travel Time if four hours.
- Regular services are set to commence from Sunday, with the ferry departing Nagapattinam at 8am and arriving in Kankesanthurai by noon.
- The return ferry will depart from Kankesanthurai at 2pm, reaching Nagapattinam by 6pm.
