Padma Vibhushan awardee Bharatnatyam veteran Dr Yamini Krishnamurthy dies on Saturday at the age of 84. Krishnamurthy's manager and secretary Ganesh told that she was suffering from age-related issues and had been in the ICU for the last seven months.

Dr Yamini Krishnamurthy was a distinguished Indian classical dancer, known for her mastery of the Bharatanatyam and Kuchipudi dance forms.

She was awarded the Padma Vibhushan, India's second-highest civilian award, in the year 2016.
