IIT-Guwahati to host India International Science Festival

10th edition of the India International Science Festival (IISF) will be hosted at IIT Guwahati from November 30 to December 3, 2024, this festival underscores the Government's commitment to the Northeast and aligns with Prime Minister Narendra Modi's vision of the region as a vital contributor to India's growth narrative.

Key Highlights 

  • The 1:50,00,000 scale model of the moon will be erected at the centre of the city when the IIT-Guwahati will host the four-day event organised by the Ministry of Science and Technology in association with Vijnana Bharati, an NGO engaged in science popularisation.
  • The giant moon replica is the creation of British artist Luke Jerram, who is well known for his unique and large-scale public artworks.
  •  The festival, organized by the Ministry of Science and Technology in collaboration with Vijnana Bharati, aims to celebrate the country’s achievements in the realms of science and technology.
  • The India International Science Festival will not only focus on space exploration but will also shine a spotlight on the various frontiers of science and technology.
