Japanese major Sony Group Corporation and Sony Pictures Entertainment (SPE) announced that Tony Vinciquerra, chairman and CEO, will step down from his role on January 2, 2025 and Ravi Ahuja, the current chairman of global television studios and president and COO, will succeed him.
- Ahuja was instrumental in leading Sony India's merger deal with Zee Entertainment Enterprises in 2021 which collapsed early this year.
- With his elevation, Ahuja joins the club of several Indian Americans who are now leading top American companies as CEOs.
- As per a statement, Ahuja, who will be based in Los Angeles, will report to Sony Group Corporation Chairman and CEO Kenichiro Yoshida and Sony Group Corporation President, COO and CFO Hiroki Totoki.
