Aparna Vastarey, prominent Kannada actor and anchor, died on July 11 after a two-year battle with lung cancer at the age of 57.

• Aparna’s cremation took place at the electric crematorium in Banashankari, in Bengaluru. Aparna’s husband Nagaraj Vasthare performed her last rites.
• Her family members, colleagues Raghavendra Rajkumar, Ramesh Aravind, director S Narayan, Mandya Ramesh, senior actor Doddanna and fans were present at the funeral.
• Aparna’s friends Singers Sunita Murali and BR Chaya sang a song for her late friend, titled Yava Mohana Murali from the Kannada film America America.
• As per the revelation by Aparna’s husband Nagaraj, she was in the fourth stage of cancer.
