Every year, the World Day for Safety and Health at Work is celebrated on April 28 worldwide. The Safety Day aims to raise awareness and educate people about the importance of safe, healthy, and proper working environments.

• The Safety Day was first celebrated by the International Labour Organisation (ILO) in 2003 and since then it has become a global celebration.
• The special occasion promotes the prevention of work-related accidents for both individuals and organisations. 
• The ILO announces a different theme or topic every year on this occasion. For 2024, the theme is to focus on ensuring safety and health at work in a changing climate, which reveals new data on the impact of climate change on workers' safety and health.
