Gopi Thotakura, an entrepreneur and pilot, made history on Sunday( 19 May 2024) by becoming the first Indian space tourist aboard Amazon founder Jeff Bezos's Blue Origin NS-25 mission. 

• This significant event marked him as the second Indian to venture into space, following Wing Commander Rakesh Sharma of the Indian Army in 1984.
• The launch, which took place at Launch Site One in West Texas, was part of Blue Origin's seventh human flight and the 25th flight for the New Shepard program.
• The NS-25 mission crew comprised six members, including Thotakura, Mason Angel, Sylvain Chiron, Kenneth L. Hess, Carol Schaller, and former Air Force Captain Ed Dwight. Dwight.
