Senior officer of Indian Police Service (IPS) Nalin Prabhat has been appointed as the Director-General of National Security Guard (NSG), India’s counter-terrorism force, according to an order of Ministry of Personnel Ministry.

• Nalin Prabhat, a 1992 batch IPS officer of Andhra Pradesh cadre, is presently posted  as Additional Director General in Central Reserve Police Force.
• According to the  Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has approved Nalin Prabhat’s  appointment as the Director General, NSG for a period upto August 31, 2028 i.e. the date of his superannuation.
• At present Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) Chief Daljit Singh Chawdhary is holding the additional charge of the NSG.
