The Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) has delivered two Dornier 228 planes to the Guyana Defence Force, the country's President Mohamed Irfaan Ali said.

• The handover occurred on April 1, 2024, underlining the deepening ties between the two nations and setting a precedent for future collaborations in the region.
• The Export-Import Bank of India (Exim Bank) played a pivotal role in facilitating this LOC, which amounts to USD 23.37 million.
  The development comes more than a year after the Guyanese president and his delegation had visited an HAL facility in India.
• Months later, a delegation from the HAL had visited and met President Ali, as a follow-up to his visit to India in early 2023.
