In a groundbreaking move aligned with the National Education Policy (NEP)-2020, Himachal Pradesh has unveiled the ‘My School-My Pride’ campaign under the ‘Apna Vidyalay’ programme, marking a significant step towards revolutionizing the quality of education in government schools.

• The initiative seeks to foster active participation from individuals and organizations, urging them to adopt schools and contribute to various aspects of students’ growth.
• Aligned with the NEP-2020, the campaign is a strategic effort to bring about a positive transformation in the state’s public education system, which caters to over 55% of students.
• Under the ‘Apna Vidyalay’ programme, stakeholders are encouraged to actively engage in the betterment of schools by providing career counseling, offering remedial teaching, coaching students for examinations, and participating in community support services.
• The scope of involvement also extends to monetary contributions for infrastructure development, event sponsorship, scholarships, and support for the Mid-Day Meal (MDM) programme.
