The Ministry of Jal Shakti organized an event called Jal Itihas Utsav at Shamsi Talab, Jahaz Mahal in Mehrauli.

• The primary goal of the event was to raise awareness among the public about safeguarding water heritage sites, instilling a sense of ownership among the masses, and promoting tourism and restoration of such heritage structures.
• Union Minister for Jal Shakti, Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, addressed the media and highlighted the ministry's efforts, along with various state governments and institutions, to revive the water heritage of the country and restore the sources that have sustained life for centuries.
• During the Amrit Kaal, a total of 75 ponds and reservoirs were identified across India, and a comprehensive restoration program was undertaken.
