    Explanation:

    Chidambaram Pillai:

    • Vallinayagam Olaganathan Chidambaram Pillai (VOC) was born 5th September 1872 to an eminent lawyer Olaganathan Pillai and Paramyee Ammai in Ottapidaram, Tirunelveli district of Tamil Nadu.
    • VOC entered politics in 1905 following the partition of Bengal.
    • Towards the end of 1905, VOC visited Madras and was drawn closer to the Swadeshi movement initiated by Bal Gangadhar Tilak and Lala Lajpat Rai.
    • VOC was drawn towards Ramakrishna Mission and came into contact with Subramania Bharati and the Mandayam family.
    • It was not until the arrival of VOC at Tuticorin (Present day Thoothukudi) that the Swadeshi movement in Tirunelveli district began to gather force and momentum.
    • By 1906, VOC won the support of merchants and industrialists in Tuticorin and Tirunelveli for the idea of establishing a Swadeshi merchant shipping outfit by the name of the Swadeshi Steam Navigation Company (SSNCo).
    • He established many institutions like Swadeshi Prachar Sabha, Dharmasanga Nesavu Salai, National Godown, Madras Agro-Industrial Society Ltd and Desabimana Sangam.

    Chakravarthi Viji Raghvachariar:

    • He was an Indian Politician. He rose to prominence following his appeal against the false charges alleging him to have instigated a Hindu-Muslim riot in Salem (now in Tamil Nadu). The legal battle and eventual victory in proving his innocence earned him the title The Lion of South India.
    • Once within the Congress, he rose to serve as its president in 1920.
    • He played a key role in framing the Swaraj Constitution. He was part of the Propaganda Committee of the Congress and thus served in spreading the ideologies of the party to the masses. He also served as the president of Hindu Mahasabha, a Hindu nationalist party, in 1931.
    • Vijayaraghavachariar's close associates in the Congress included Dadabhai NaorojiBal Gangadhar TilakGopal Krishna Gokhale, Dr. Ansari, Maulana AzadHakim Ajmal KhanLala Lajpat RaiC. Rajagopalachari and Motilal Nehru.
    • With the advent of Mahatma Gandhi's non-violent ideologies in the party, there was a rift in the Congress ranks between the old moderates and the new radicals. Vijiaraghavachariar was a Nationalist and the Moderate Congress policy did not appeal to his judgement. He, therefore, stood aloof from the Congress after the organisation split following Surat session. Nevertheless, he later joined to carry the message of Gandhi.

    Tej Bahadur Sapru:

    • Sapru was at first a member of the Indian National Congress (December 28, 1885). He advocated Swaraj. But he was not in favour of unconstitutional means to achieve it. He was even the President of the UP Congress Committee before leaving the Party and joining the Liberal Party of India.
    • As a prominent founder-member of the Liberal Party, he collaborated with the Congress on various movements like the non-cooperation movement, the Salt Satyagraha and the Quit India Movement.
    • Sir Tej Bahadur Sapru believed that greater political rights and freedom could be achieved for Indians through peaceful dialogue and mediation.
