    • In Saurashtra, there is a lake called Sudarshan Lake in the middle of a hill called Girnaar. Chandragupta Maurya, the ancestor of the Maurya dynasty, gave the order to build this lake.
    • It is said that the emperor of that time wanted proper management for irrigation for the people of their city. His Governor Pushyagupta Vaishya, worked on it and built the Sudarshan Lake.
    • Tusshasp had rebuilt the lake and Canals were taken out of lake at the time of eminent Emperor Ashoka.
    • This artificial reservoir was repaired in 150 AD by Rudradaman, and the Junagarh inscription gave so many clues about the building of Sudarshan Lake and its repair.
