• This extreme heatwave severely impacted 57 million people in the southern and southwestern United States, reaching the highest level of severity.
• When examining temperature data for June, July, and August combined, these months were 0.41 degrees Fahrenheit (0.23 degrees Celsius) warmer than all previous summers, highlighting the escalating impact of global warming.
