Ashtamudi Lake: Located in the state of Kerala, Ashtamudi Lake is an estuary and is considered a lagoon.
Chilika Lake: Situated in the state of Odisha, Chilika Lake is the largest coastal lagoon in India and the second largest in the world.
Periyar Lake: Located in Kerala, Periyar Lake is a reservoir formed by the damming of the Periyar River. It is not considered a lagoon.
Pulicat Lake: Situated on the border of Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu, Pulicat Lake is the second largest brackish water lagoon in India after Chilika Lake.
