The government of India (GOI) is establishing a Dedicated Freight Corridor (DFC) between Delhi and Mumbai, with terminals at Dadri in the National Capital region of Delhi and Jawaharlal Nehru Port near Mumbai. The corridor, covering a length of around 1500 km, will pass through six states of UP, National Capital territory of Delhi, Haryana,Rajasthan, Gujarat and Maharashtra.Theproject plans to create self sustaining industrial townships within the corridor.These townships would be served by multi-modal connectivity for freight movement as well as reliable power and air connectivity.
