Veteran actor Sameer Khakhar, best known for his role in the iconic television show 'Nukkad' died on Wednesday at a hospital in Mumbai. He was 71.

• Born on August 9, 1952, Sameer Khakhar, was a Bollywood, TV and theatre actor. 
• In a career spanning nearly four decades, the actor rose to fame with his role as 'Khopdi' in the TV show 'Nukkad'. He is also known for his role in 'Circus'.
• The actor was admitted to MM Hospital in Borivali in suburban Mumbai on Tuesday morning following respiratory issues. He collapsed and died after suffering multiple organ failure at 4.30 am today. Mr Khakhar is survived by his wife.
