World Fisheries Day is celebrated on 21 November 2022. The celebrations serve to focus on changing the way the world manages global fisheries to ensure sustainable stocks and a healthy ecosystem.

• The Department of Fisheries will celebrate the day in Daman to create awareness on the importance of healthy ocean ecosystems and sustainable fisheries.
• The government will award the best-performing states and districts for the past three years in this regard.
• An Exhibition and technical sessions will be held for technology transfer.
