On February 18, 2022, diversified energy major Indian Oil announced that, it has installed more than 1,000 electric vehicle charging stations (EVCS) in India.

First EV charger of Indian Oil
Indian Oil installed its first EV charger at Nagpur, for public in 2017. Now, its charging points are present across 500 towns and cities including multiple state and national highways. Apart from that, Indian oil is planning to set up a base of 3000 plus charging stations, in order to convert highways into e-highways in next three years. According to ‘National Mission for Transformative Mobility and Battery Storage’, Indian Oil is setting up EV charging infrastructure in Mumbai, Delhi, Hyderabad, Bengaluru, Chennai, Ahmedabad, Surat, Kolkata, and Pune. It is followed by state capitals, smart cities, major expressways and highways.
