NAAC Guidelines on Accreditation

National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) recently relaxed the eligibility criteria for accreditation of higher educational institutions.

Key Points

  • University Grants Commission (UGC) is likely to address a webinar on new guidelines soon.
  • These guidelines had been communicated to colleges on January 23, 2022 to receive feedback from stakeholders.
  • Out of 280 affiliated colleges, more than 200 affiliated higher educational institutions (HEIs) of DAVV are not accredited to NAAC accredited yet.
  • As per new guidelines of NAAC, provisional accreditation for colleges (PAC) will help in ascertaining the readiness of institutions for final NAAC accreditation.
  • Last date to apply for provisional certificate is February 24, 2022.
  • Institutions applying for the PAC process will get feedback on areas they need to work on in order to reach the threshold level of quality.

Validity of PAC

PAC will be valid for two years. Institutions will not get it more than two times it will give window for colleges to prepare accordingly.
