=> Before entering into field of arts Jyoti Prasad Agarwala contributed in freedom movement also.
=> Jyoti Prasad's mother, Kironmoyee had great impact on Jyoti Prasad Agarwala.
=> She was the first president of the Tezpur Mahila Samiti, established in 1919.
=> She set up the Sipini Sangha, a weaving centre for women, at the ancestral Agarwala home in Tezpur called ‘Poki’.
=> Gandhiji stayed on his two visits to Tezpur in 1921 and 1934 in the ancestral house of Jyoti Prasad Agarwala called Poki.
Silpi Bota (award):
=> To commemorate the contribution of Jyoti Prasad agarwala in Assamese arts every year on his death anniversary silpi Divas is observed.

=> On the occasion of Silpi Divas a special award known as Silpi Bota (award) is given to artists year.
