=> India State of Forest Report 2021 has said three regions with highest tiger density are
1.Corbett Tiger Reserve is 14(per 100 sq km)
2.Kaziranga (13.06)
3.Nagarhole (11.82)
=> The estimated tiger density in Assam’s Orang Tiger Reserve is 10.62. Similarly, the estimated tiger density in Manas Tiger Reserve is 3.30.
=> The estimated number of tiger population in Kaziranga is 104 followed by 31 in Manas,21 in Orang,Nameri Tiger Reserve estimated tiger population of three.
What is the news?
=> Manas Tiger Reserve is among the top three tiger reserves in the country with the highest square kilometres of notified tiger area.
=> The other two are Nagarjunasagar Srisailam in Andhra Pradesh and Indravati in Chhattisgarh.
=> Manas has 2,837.10 sq km notified tiger area as compared to Kaziranga which has 1,173.58 sq km notified tiger area.
=> Madhya Pradesh and Maharashtra account for the highest number of tiger reserves with six reserves each.
=> The highest number of tigers are found in Corbett (231), followed by Karnataka's Nagarhole (217) and Bandipur (126).
