PAN-Aadhaar Linking Deadline Further Extended till September, 30 2021

The Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT) has once again extended the deadline for the mandatory linking of the Permanent Account Number (PAN) with Aadhaar number by three months to September 30, 2021.
Earlier this deadline was June, 30 2021.
The extension has been done keeping in mind the difficulties arising out of the second wave of COVID-19 pandemic, so as to provide relief to those who still have not linked their PAN with Aadhaar due to mismatch in details.
It must be noted that as per the Section 139AA of the Income Tax Act 1961, every individual with PAN as on July 1, 2017 and is eligible to obtain Aadhaar, must link PAN with Aadhaar.
