‘She Haat’ inaugurated in Pachhad

Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur inaugurated ‘She Haat’, a wayside amenity, created at a cost of Rs 70 lakh at Bagh Pashog village in Pachhad Assembly segment of Sirmaur district, virtually from Shimla.
It comprises a rural ‘haat’, a shop, a restaurant, a guest room and a ‘kaushal vikas kendra’ which is being run by 25 self-help group (SHG) women.
The Chief Minister said this venture was providing self-employment to the women where they were selling traditional, natural and organic produce.
They also serve ‘pahari’ food, besides providing home stay facilities to visitors.
It also has a two-bed room guest house, solar power plant, rain water harvesting system, waste composting, acupressure track and air purifying plants.
An e-vehicle has also been provided for women to ply from their houses and it will also be used to ferry natural spring water.
The state government would expand this experiment in other parts of the state as it would provide employment to the rural women. It also provides a glimpse of the state’s culture, cuisine and tradition.
MP Suresh Kashyap said that ‘Haat’ was an innovative scheme envisioned for women empowerment and making them economically independent.
