Centre of excellence in IT for Waknaghat village in Solan

Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur laid the foundation stone of Rs 85 crore Centre of Excellence for tourism, hospitality and information technology at gram panchayat Chausha near Waknaghat in Solan.
Thakur said it would have an information technology centre, centre of excellence for tourism and hospitality, training hotel, teaching staff residence, students’ hostel, staff quarters and director’s residence.
It would produce trained youth as per the demand of the industry and would be constructed with pre-fabricated structures. Its construction would be completed by June, 2022.
The centre would meet the demand of high-end information technology skills such as analytics, robotics and artificial intelligence, etc.
It would also provide incubation services to the new entrepreneurs of the state.
Technical Education and Information Technology Minister Dr Ram Lal Markanda said this would be the fourth such centre in the country.
