Nagarhole National Park is in the Cauvery Basin. Sathyamangalam Tiger Reserve lies on the banks of the River Bhavani, a tributary of the River Cauvery in the foothills of the Eastern Ghats. Kabini river (a tributary of Cauvery river) flows through the Wayanad wildlife sanctuary.
Where as Papikonda remains entirely inside the East and West Godavari districts near Godavari basin after 2014 and after the construction of Polavaram Dam.
