Recently, the Gujarat government said they are not in favour of translocating Asiatic Lions to Madhya Pradesh.

The Kuno Palpur Wildlife Sanctuary in Barkheda, MP is selected to translocated the Asiatic lion from Gir National Park, Gujarat.
At present Gir National Park and Wildlife Sanctuary is the only abode of the Asiatic lion.
They are listed in Schedule I of Wildlife (Protection) Act 1972, in Appendix I of CITES and as Endangered on IUCN Red List.

Hence both statements are incorrect.
