Lai Haraoba Festival held in Tripura

The Lai Haraoba festival is being held in Tripura.
The festival is celebrated by the Meitei community to please sacred trees called "Umang Lai".
The Community is spread across Assam, Tripura, Manipur, Meghalaya, Myanmar and Bangladesh.
But the festival is widely celebrated in the state of Manipur in the month of May.
The Meitei people speak the language called "Meiteilon".
Umang Lai are the sacred trees that are preserved for the local forest deities.
