     75 tribal groups have been categorized categorized by Ministry of Home Affairs as Particularly Vulnerable Tribal Groups (PVTG)s. PVTGs reside in 18 States and UT of A&N Islands.

    There are 75 Particularly Vulnerable Tribal Groups (PVTGs) notified as on date in the country.  The criteria (Dhebar commission) followed for determination of PVTGs is as under:

    i.        A pre-agriculture level of technology;

    ii.       A stagnant or declining population;

    iii.      Extremely low literacy; and

    iv.      A subsistence level of economy.

     Irulars are found in TN, whereas Konda Reddis are found in Andhra Pradesh (including Telangana).
