All India Law Entrance Test (AILET) is conducted by National Law University Delhi (NLU Delhi) to offer admission to eligible candidates in undergraduate (UG), postgraduate (PG) and doctorate (PhD) level law courses. This is a university-level entrance exam only for admissions at NLU Delhi as the university does not accept any other law entrance exam for admissions.
AILET 2021 Eligibility Criteria
The candidates seeking admissions at NLU Delhi through AILET can check the eligibility criteria as under:

- Candidates passed in Class 12th or SSC examination or equivalent with minimum 50% marks.
- Candidates appearing for the qualifying exams are also eligible.

PG Law course
|
- Candidates holding LLB or an equivalent degree with minimum 55% marks are eligible.
- Candidates belonging to SC/ ST categories need to secure at least 50% marks in the final year of the LLB degree.
- Candidates appearing for their final year LLB examinations are also eligible.

PhD course
|
- Candidates holding an LLM degree from any recognised university
- They should have secured at least 55% marks in the qualifying degree examination. However, if belonging to SC/ ST categories then the qualifying marks are 50% at least. Or
- If candidates have completed their law degree along with a master’s degree such as MPhil in Social Sciences/ Humanities from any recognised university with minimum 55% marks. Such candidates should ensure that the research work they have conducted is relevant to any discipline of law and with special focus on topics like Public Policy of Law. Or
- Candidates who have completed a degree in law and a PhD in any discipline. Or
- Candidates who have worked as a State High Court Judge in India for at least three years or Judge at Supreme Court of India.

AILET Admission Process
The admission process of NLU Delhi through AILET is as under:
Step 1: Online Registration - Candidates need to register online at the official website of NLU Delhi - https://nludelhi.ac.in and fill the application form including candidates' details, uploading documents, fee payment and exam centre selection. The application forms need to be submitted in online mode only.

Step 2: Issue of admit cards - The university will issue admit card to candidates who have successfully registered before the last date of application. Candidates have to carry the admit card on the exam day as it mentions important details regarding the test takers, centre and exam.
Step 3: Appear for Exam - Candidates have to appear for the examination at the allotted test centres as mentioned on their AILET admit card. They should report to their test centres at least an hour before the examination.
Step 4: Results declaration - The university will announce AILET results within a month after conducting the examination. The scorecard of candidates qualifying the examination will mention All India Rank, sectional scores, as well as overall scores.
Step 5: Counselling on basis of the rank-cum-merit list - The university will conduct counselling on the basis of the rank list and also verify the candidates' eligibility for the law course they are seeking admission in.
AILET Exam Analysis
The analysis is provided by the law experts after the exam has been conducted to give details about the question paper such as difficulty level, type of question asked and weightage of topics from each section.
Last year, the exam was conducted on May 5, 2019, in multiple cities throughout India. As per the experts, AILET 2019 question paper carried no surprises and was quite similar to previous year’s. Q: How many seats are offered through AILET?
A: There are a total of 160 seats available at NLU Delhi, however, only 140 seats (70 seats for each course) for BA LLB and LLM courses are offered through AILET exam.
