Following are the effects of recognition of belligerency

I.        Recognizing  state can declare its attitude of impartiality in the conflict, i.e. it may opt for the attitude of neutrality.

II.       Recognizing state is bound to accord the rights of belligerency to the warring parties such as right of admission of their ships into its port, the right to visit and search at sea.

III.      The rules of warfare apply to such hostilities.

IV.      the relations between the recognized belligerent authorities established government and the recognizing state are governed by international law and not by Municipal law.
