Paradise Regained is a poem by English poet John Milton, first published in 1671. The volume in which it appeared also contained the poet's closet drama Samson Agonistes. The biggest theme in Paradise Regained is Christian heroism. This is defined as enduring faith in God, belief in prayer, and a spiritual strength to persevere through obstacles. The character of Jesus Christ is the epitome of Christian heroism. Another theme in the poem is hunger.
