Twelve men and 5 women can complete a work in 2 days whereas 4 men and 3 women can complete the same work in 5 days. In how many days can 8 men complete the work?

Let work done by men be 'x' in one day and and 'y' by women, so,
12x + 5y = 1/2............i
4x + 3y = 1/5...........ii
on solving eq. i and ii, we get,
x = 1/32,
so, work done by 8 men = 8x
= 8 * 1/32 = 4
Hence, option 2 is the correct answer.
