Context: India recently attended the The 8th edition of the World Green Economy Summit (WGES) is being held on 28-29th September 2022 in Dubai, UAE.

The two-day summit is being held at Dubai World Trade Center (DWTC).

It is organised by the Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA), the World Green Economy Organization (WGEO) and the Dubai Supreme Council of Energy.

It is focused on four key pillars of the green economy: Energy, Finance, Food security and Youth.

To stimulate discussion among government agencies and regulators

To drive dialogue and action among industry stakeholders

To facilitate interaction between the public and private sectors
Theme: The World Green Economy Summit 2022 is set based on the theme of Climate action leadership through collaboration: the roadmap to net-zero.

A ministerial roundtable showcasing the green economy was also organised which was attended by 25 ministers and officials from around the world.

The Union Minister for Environment, Forest and Climate Change said India is the first country with a cooling action plan based on energy efficiency and thermal comfort.

After the Roundtable, the minister also had a bilateral meeting with the UAE Minister of State for Foreign Trade.
