How does the United Nations differ from the League of Nations?
Its membership is much larger.
It is based on realism rather than liberal ideas.
It rejects the idea of national self-determination.
It refuses to take sides in any dispute between states.
There is little or no difference between the UN and the League of Nations in their approach to national self-determination (answer c), and like the League the UN is heavily influenced by liberal ideas (answer b). Both institutions could be criticised on the grounds that they were reluctant to take sides in disputes, but it is untrue to accuse them of refusing to take sides in any dispute (answer d).
