Ziyauddin Barani (1285 – 1357) was a Muslim political thinker of the Delhi Sultanate located in present-day North India during Muhammad bin Tughlaq and Firuz Shah's reign. His other important work Fatawa-i-Jahandari is a book on political philosophy that deals with the techniques and rules of government. His book Tarikh-i-Firuz Shahi is the first hand account of his times.
