Explanation:

Total investment by A, B and C = Rs. 47,000
Let amount invested by C = Rs. X
then amount invested by B = Rs. (x+3000)
and amount invested by A = Rs. (x+3000+5000)
According to the question,
x + (x+3000) + (x+3000+5000) = 47000
3x + 11000 = 47000
3x = 36000
x = Rs. 12000
A : B : C
Ration of (x + 8000) : (x+3000) : x
Amount (12000+8000) : (12000+3000) : 12000
20,000 : (12000+3000) : 12000
20 : 15 : 12
Since the time for which the amounts were invested was same for all partners the ratio of amounts will be the ratio of profits.
