Explanation:

Let the total distance be 3y km. According to the question.
Speed × Time = Distance
∴ x × 5/2 = 2y
= 5x = 4y ……….. (i)
Again, (x + 2) × 52/60 = y
= (x + 2) × 5 = 6y ……….. (ii)
On dividing equation (ii) by (i)
(x + 2)/x = 3/2
= 3x = 2x + 4
x = 4
From equation (i)
5 × 4 = 4y
y = 5
∴ Total distance = 3y = 3 × 5 = 15 km.
