A 180-metre long train crosses another 270-metre long train running in the opposite direction in 10.8 seconds. If the speed of the first train is 60 kmph. what is the speed of the second train in kmph ?
80
90
150
Cannot be determined
Time taken by trains in crossing each other= (Sum of length of trains)/Relative speed 60 kmph = (60 × 5)/18 = 50/3 m/sec. If the speed of other train be x m/sec. then, 10.8 = (180 + 270)/(50/3 +x) = 180 + 10.8x = 450 = 10.8x = 450 - 180 = 270 = x = 270/10.8 = 25 meter/ sec. = 25 × 18/5 kmph = 90 kmph
