    Three pipes P, Q and R can fill the tank in 5, 10 and 15 minutes respectively. If all the pipes are opened together and pipe R is turned off after 2 minutes. Then, find the total time in which the tank will full ?

    Explanation:

    Let capacity of tank = LCM (5,10,15) = 30 units

    then, efficiency of P ,Q and R :

    Ep = 6 , Eq = 3 , Er = 2

    Tank which get filled in 2 minutes = 11x2 = 22 units

    remaining tank to be filled = 30 -22= 8 units 

    Now, this 8 units has to be filled by P & Q together :

    => 8/9

    => Total time = 2 + 8/9 = 26/9 minutes
