The probability that in the random arrangement of the letters of the word CAPSLOCK ,the two C's does not come together is?

The total number of arrangements of the letters of the word CAPSLOCK is =8!/2!

The number of arrangements when both C's are together=7!

So the number of arrangements in which both C's do not come together =8!/2! -7!

Therefore the required probability=(8!/2!  -7!)/(8!/2!)

=(8! -7!×2!)/8!

=7!(8-2)/8!

=6/8

=3/4
