External dimensions,
l = 50 cm, b = 40 cm, h = 23 cm
Internal dimension,
l' = 50 – (2 × 3) = 44 cm
b' = 40 – (2 × 3) = 34 cm
h' = 23 – 3 = 20 cm
Volume of the metal used in the box = External Volume – Internal Volume
= [( 50 × 40 × 23) – (44 × 34 × 20)] cm³
= 16080 cm³.
∴ Weight of the metal
