    Let radius of a sphere = r
    ∴ Surface area of sphere (S1) = 4πr2
    If diameter is doubled, then radius will also be doubled.
    ∴ Radius = 2r
    Now, Surface area of the sphere (S2) = 4π(2r)2 = 16πr2 = 4S1
    Hence, it increases four times.
