In the figure given above, EC is parallel to AB, ∠ECD = 70° and ∠BDO = 20°. What is the value of ∠OBD?

Explanation:

Given that, EC || AB

∴ ∠ECO + ∠AOC = 180°

⇒ ∠AOC = 180° – 70° = 110°

∴ ∠BOD = ∠AOC = 110°

(alternate angle)

Now, in ΔOBD

∠BOD + ∠ODB + ∠DBO = 180°

∴ 110° + 20° + x° = 180° ⇒ x° = 50°.
