Two bikes A and B start at the same time from K and L which are 140 km apart. If the two bikes travel in opposite directions, They meet after one hour, and if they travel in same direction (from K towards B), then A meets B after 5 hours. What is the speed of bike A?

Explanation:

Let their speeds be x kmph and y kmph respectively.
Then, 140/(x+y) = 1
x+y = 140 ..........(i)
now, when they move in same direction:
(distance travelled by A in 5 hours) - (distance travelled by B in 5 hours) = 140
5x - 5y = 140
x-y = 28 ...........(ii)
solving (i) and (ii), x = 84, y = 56
B's speed = 56 kmph.
