Explanation:

Let the total marks = x

According to the question,

x × 25% + 64 = x × 40% – 32

x × 40% - x × 25% = 64 + 32

x × 15% = 96

x = 640

Passing marks = 640 × 25% + 64
= 160 + 64 = 224 marks
