    Explanation:

    Let the length of the train be x meters.
    Now, as in both the cases the speed of the train is same.
    So, x + 140 /16 = x + 100 /14
    ⇒ 14x + 1960 = 16x + 1600
    ⇒  2x = 360 
     ⇒ 180 m.
    So, the length of the x = 180m.
