Let the Marked Price be 100/-
∴ Selling Price after discount of 10% = 90/-
It’s given that shopkeeper earns a profit of 12.5% even after offering the discount
∴ (100 + 12.5)% of Cost Price = Selling Price = 90/-
∴ 1125/1000 x CP = 90
∴ CP = 80 /-
Now, had the shopkeeper not offered a discount on the selling price would have been = Marked Price = 100/-
∴ Profit to be = 100 - 80 = 20
∴ Profit% = Profit /CP x 100%
= 20/80 x 100% = 25%
