    Let salaries are x,y,z with respect to A,B,C.
    Saving of A=20%= 0.2x
    Saving of B=15 %=0.15 y
    Saving of C=25 %=0.25z

    So 0.2x : 0.15y = 8/9 (given)
    y = 1.5x

    and 0.2x/0.25z = 8/20 (given)
    z = 2x

    in question given x+y+z=72,000
    x + 1.5x + 2x = 72,000
    4.5x = 72,000
    x = 16,000
