The ratio of the incomes of A and B is 5:4 and their expenditures is 3:2. If B saves one-third of his income, then what is the ratio of their savings?
3:2
3:4
5:3
3:5
Let us assume that the income is of x and expenditure is y From the given ratio The income of A and B is 5x and 4x respectively and their expenditure is 3y and 2y respectively Income -Expenditure = savings So savings of A is 5x-3y and that of B is 4x-2y Ratio of saving of B ie 4x-2y = 4x/3 Solving this , we get y=4x/3 5x-3y = x and 4x-2y = 4x/3 So the ratio of saving of A and B are 3:4
